Golf Course Improvements During the 2021 and 2022 Golf Seasons
As we celebrate Boulder Canyon Golf Club’s 75th Anniversary in 2023, and look forward to our best golf season ever, let us first look back over the past two years to note the tremendous number of improvements we have completed. During the 2021 and 2022 golf seasons, we invested over $1,000,000 in course improvements and capital equipment purchases to continue our journey to becoming the unequivocal finest golf course in the Northern Black Hills. Every dollar invested is done with the primary goal of improving the golfing experience for members, their guests, and the general public.

  • Installation of two miles of new, six feet wide, concrete cart paths on the back 9.
  • New asphalt overlay on the cart paths of the entire front 9.
  • Buried the overhead power lines in the fairway of hole #16
  • Significantly enlarged the island green on hole #12 to increase playability.
  • On hole #17, we greatly expanded the landing area behind the green in the 2021 off season. During the 2022 off season, we are nearly doubling the playable area in the fairway for a golfer’s second shot, and we have removed the large rock in the middle of the fairway that proved to be a golf ball magnet for so many players.
  • Also, during the 2022 off season, we stripped, leveled and re sodded the back two tee boxes on hole #15 and the back tee box on hole #13.
  • Renovation of all of the bunkers on the front nine including the addition of high-quality bunker sand.
  • Construction of new back tee box on hole #12. A tee shot from this box will require a very high-quality shot to carry the water to our signature island green.
  • The renovation of the Practice Range. The Range was leveled, irrigated, and seeded. We also created new target mounds at various distances.
  • Filled in the hole in front of the green on hole #16 and sodded this area. This will greatly improve the playability of this hole.
  • Purchased over $200,000 in new course maintenance equipment to ensure our players always find the course in the best condition possible.
  • During the 2023 Golf Season, we will welcome the arrival of 56 brand new, 2023 Club Car Golf Carts with full GPS and built-in Bluetooth speakers. Upon delivery, Boulder Canyon will provide our players the finest cart fleet in the Black Hills, if not one of the best in the country.

And last, but certainly not least, during the past two years our new Management Company has made a tremendous commitment to providing the finest experience for our players both on the course and off it.  We have invested a considerable amount of capital in our people: nearly doubling our workforce since 2020.  Our obligation to all players is to provide the finest customer service of any course in the Black Hills from the time you drive into our parking lot until the time you leave.  In the Golf Shop or in our Restaurant and Bar, our employees are here to serve you and ensure you have a great time at our golf club because we want you to come back time and time again.

All-you-can-eat pizza freshly made on the premises, all with your choice of toppings

Hamburger Bar

All-you-can-eat grilled hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hotdogs with baked beans and a choice of two salads (e.g. potato salad, macaroni salad, bean salad, or broccoli salad)

BBQ Buffet

Brisket, ribs, chicken, sausage, and more, served buffet-style with all the fixings.

We can also customize a meal suited to the needs of your group.

Food and beverages are charged 4.5% tax and a 20% service fee.
Boulder Canyon does not permit coolers or outside beverages at any time.
